Hi all,
We've tracked down a trailer that will suit our needs for a decent price. Woo hoo! Jono even offered to go and pick it up from Sydney. Double woo hoo! Jono's car decided to break itself. Bugger.
I'm free from wednesday arvo to road trip up to Sydney to collect the trailer and I may even have a suitable car, but I'd like to recruit a co-pilot or two, also a car that can definitely be used would be great. If we manage to get the trailer before Opposite Lock, we'll have saved the crew about $250 in trailer hire. Woo hoo! Please let me know ASAP if you can help out.
Also, the trailer is going to cost a bunch of money. While we can justify pending the cash for the trailer, we are going to have to do some serious fundraising in order for the crew to be able to keep writing cheques for tickets and things.
**PLEASE THINK OF SOME GOOD FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND BRING THEM TO THE BUSINESS MEETING NEXT WEEK** If you're not coming, give your ideas to someone else. No matter how much cash we have, I still don't get a Christmas bonus, so this is all for the crew, because we can't do much with no money.
Noddy
Crew Leader edit: On the buggy front, we have a replacement scrut on Wednesday 4th between 5 and 6pm. The closer to 5 the better, so if anyone knows of a trailer we can borrow for an hour, and if someone is able to tow it, that would be great.

Vic Gathering and District Pack Holiday registration
Howdy everyone,
Vic Gathering is coming up on the first weekend of December (4-6) and the question I put to you all is: Do we want to go and help out? It's a great opportunity to do service and to get out to venturers and lay the groundwork for recruitment. So if people could leave comments saying if they'd like to help, I can ring and organise something. I'll do my best this year if we go to not end up with an activity that involves broken legs.
Secondly, a quick reminder about the District Pack Holiday. Details are in the service, service, service post below, but I'll throw the link for registration here again. (clicky)
I know some of you have registered, but those who haven't and plan to attend please do so our DCSL can get an idea of numbers for catering etc.
See you all on Wednesday for a business meeting

Business Meeting
Tomorrow is a business meeting, and we are holding it at the district hall, in Foch St Ormond from 8. It will give us an idea as to what we will have to move on Saturday, as well as an actual hall in which to hold proceedings. See you all there.

Service, Service, Service
My inbox has been going nuts with activities for the next couple of months so I thought I'd put some down here for everybody to read, in order from closest to furthest.
Clearing of Foch St for garage prep:
The garage planning is in its final stages, and in preparation for this, Graeme Berry is looking at clearing out the area it will be going in.
He wants to do it this Saturday, the 10th, organising a skip and filing it with whatever is there. As the garage is kind of being built for us, it would be nice if we could lend a hand, I/Graeme would need to know by Tomorrow (Tuesday) if you can help, in order to book the skip.
Joint night with Venturers:
We've been asked by DVC to run a night for the venturers next week on either the Tuesday or Wednesday, so ideas for activities to run, as well as an indication of if people can do Tuesday so we get more venturers. We will be discussing this at the business meeting on Wednesday, so bring your ideas along.
District Pack Holiday:
This is on the 13th-15th of November, and for those who aren't aware, we do the catering for the cubs. This year we'll have Everest Le Page joining us, so we can all have some fun. It's at Pax Hill scout camp in Ballarat, and the District Cub Leader has asked that all rovers who are going to attend fill out an online registration form. The link is here, if you have any further questions, feel free to ask me.
Street Beat Festival
Glen Eira council is holding its annual Street Beat Festival on Wednesday November 25th. Branch is sending out Team Max and would like some rovers/leaders to help out. It goes from 9am to 3.30pm and if you could help out at all, it would be great.
Frank has said he'd like to know who can by Wednesday the 17th, which I assume is November, I'll ask him and amend the details here.
I'd also like to know who is interested in helping out at VG again this year, it's the 4th-6th of December. Please let me know so I can get in touch with the organisers.
