Helping out at cubs

Hi all,
I have been contacted by Murray from 1st Central, who we ran the I want to be a Rover night for 2 weeks ago and he has asked for a hand running a market night for his cubs. The night involves a series of activities and the cubs rotate through each activity during the night. Unfortunately, I have mudbash committee and won't be there, but if you could all let me know if you will be there or not so I can let Murray know, that would be great. The night starts at 7pm and finishes at 830 at the hall in Bignell Road, on Centenary park.

Cheers,
Noddy

I want to be a rover night

Howdy guys,

I mentioned in the July business meeting that I was looking for the rovers to run an I Want to be a Rover night in August, and long story short, was wondering if people would be able to come down this Tuesday, the 24th.
I'm looking for 2 or 3 to help run it, I have programs and stuff sorted, so it would be a case of show up, run the night, and go home again.
The pack meets at 1st Bentleigh's hall, Victory Park, Patterson Rd, Bentleigh, from 7.00 till 8.30
If you could let me know if you could help, that'd be great, so I can make alternate plans should we be unable to do it.
Hopefully I'll see most of you at Rover Night on Saturday

Hi Everyone!

Just a reminder about Ali's wood beads presentation. Those of us that have been given things to do will be meeting at Foch street at 730 to have a run through. If everyone can try to be there for 730 that would be awesome, but I need everyone there BEFORE 8pm so we can be organised when the other guests begin to arrive.

***FULL UNIFORM MUST BE WORN including Black/Navy/official uniform pants and black shoes***
If you do not have proper uniform, I may resort to using my angry face.

Remember, try to get there for 7:30, definitely by 8:00 and wear FULL uniform.

Cheers,
Noddy

Events-A-Plenty

Hi all, Lots of things to update you on:

1. We've all be invited to Ali's woodbeads presentation. This will be a good opportunity to show our support, catch up with some of our booted members who have moved on and show them what we've done since they left.

Date: 26/05/2010

Time: 8pm for an 8:15pm Ceremony

Location: Foch Street Scout Hall, Ormond (Where we've been meeting recently)

For those of you who have been asked to participate in the ceremony, please be a bit early and can everyone be in full uniform, including black/navy pants if at all possible.

2. There is a meet and greet for the new Melbourne region on the 22nd of May at 12:30pm at 1st VicSea Scouts Hall, Aquatic Drive, South Melbourne. Despite this being our buggy weekend at Guildford, I think it is important that we attend and get to know the other crews in our new region. The plan is that we will pack for Guildford, go to the meet and greet for a couple of hours, then continue on to Guildford and spend what time we can driving. Rob has agreed to tow the buggy trailer up so that we can all attend the meeting. Lunch will be provided, BYO drinks, please let me know if you will be going to Guildford, the meeting or neither by Sunday at the latest. I expect everyone going to Guildford to attend the meeting.

3. Mudbash. Its going to be awesome, but you will need to be organised. Start thinking about who will be able to tow the buggy and/or other crew gear to Mafeking and what you will need (eg. generator, fire extinguishers etc.) and where you can get it from.

4. Greg Davies has approached me and asked if we would like to do some service and also make some money. The Ormond Traders are looking to have some graffiti removed (painted over) and would like to pay us to do it, they will supply all the materials. There is about a half day's work and it has been suggested that we could also involve the Venturers. I think the Weekend of the 29th/30th of May would be a good opportunity to get it done and do some valuable PR at the same time.

That's all for now, please leave a comment letting me know what you think, or even just that you've read this because I need to know who knows what.
Cheers,
Noddy

Bingo Night

Howdy Buckos,

Firstly, thanks to those who helped out tonight, all things considered, it went pretty well. And next time we have already have a plan (Weather permitting)

So tonight we are going along to Lord Casey's super fun bingo night.
When 8pm
Where: 3rd Noble Park scout hall, Jennings St, Noble Park
How much: $5 gets you entry and two games, and every game afterwards is $2

This a good opportunity to support another crew's fundraising, and the more support we give, the more we get in return. So for the good of the crew, go play bingo

Joint night with Venturers this Tuesday April 20

Howdy all,

As I've been telling you all for the past month or two, we have a joint night with the venturers this coming Tuesday. At the March business meeting I suggested frisbee golf, and that's what we're going with.

So details:
Where: Moorleigh community village (aka Where our buggy used to be)
When: Tuesday April 20th The night runs from 7.30 till 9.30, but I'll need some help setting up from about 6.30 onwards, and some help after packing it up.
What to bring: Yourself, your uniform, and any frisbees you may have
What's happening: I've got a 12-14 hole course around the entire park, Venturers will be in groups of 3 or 4 and every group will hopefully have a rover taking them around. It will be dark, but I have LEDs to attach to frisbees and to mark out the tees and goals.
The aim is like golf, the person and team with the lowest number of throws to complete the course wins, and will probably get prizes.

What I need to know is who can be there to run around with the Venturers, and who can come down early for set up. If you could leave comments that would be tops, and I'll be sending a message out to everyone to read this blog. If you can't log in to leave a comment, let me know! These type of events are what help us get venturers into rovers, and we need rovers there for the venturers to relate to.

See you next Tuesday

April Business Meeting and Leadfoot Prep

Hey Guys,

This Wednesday is the first of the month so guess what? Business Meeting!

When: 8.00pm
Where: District hall in Foch St Ormond.

And considering that Leadfoot is this weekend, we should probably get stuff organised, so I'd like to propose those going should be there at 7.30 to organise/pull what we need.

I'll be an apology as I'll be attending RYVER's region meeting, but you'll get Noddy back to run the meeting, so win for everyone.

BMX night

Hi everyone!

Well, tomorrow night is BMX night! Now, if you don't have a BMX it's ok, just use your normal mountain bike or what ever bike you have.
We are going to the BMX track in Oakliegh. It's on Centre Rd just past Warrigul Rd near the Bus Depot. If people are unsure of where it is, meet at the Walkers no later than 7.15pm. If we want to utalise what light we have, we should get there at 7.30pm.

Also, this Saturday we are relocating our stuff to the garage on Foch St. The council want us to move all our stuff out of their garage. More details to come on that subject.

And finally, those of you wanting to go to RevFest, pre-sold ticket sales end this Saturday the 20th of Feb. You save about 5 bucks if you pre-pay. Anyone wanting to just go and watch is free to do so, they have seperate tickets for spectators.

I think that's about it for now. Don't forget, if you don't know were the BMX track is tomorrow night and want to meet at the Walker's, you must be no later the 7.15pm or we'll leave without you!

Cheers
Kelly :-)

Business Meeting and Nominations

Howdy all,

That time of year and month again, so come on over to my place for a business meeting at 8.00pm to get formal things going again for the year.
It's also time to get your thinking caps/pants/lack of pants* on and think about what you want programmed into the year and who you'd like to see in which crew position.

See you all tomorrow at 8 in full uniform,
Evan

*Pants/Shorts must be worn at meeting, regardless of interference with thinking

Welcome back

Well, it's now come to the time of year where we all get together and reflect on the time we've had off.
Where: The Walkers
When: Wednesday the 13th of January
Time: 8pm
Basically we'll be having a meeting to discuss what's been going on and upcoming things and all that jazz. It'll more or less be a bit of a catch up session.

Hope to see all your smiling faces!

Kelly :-)
